Question 2.0 turbo gas mileage (Gen 9)

I was wondering what kind of gas mileage people are getting with their 2016 Malibu with the 2.0 turbo

re: 2.0 turbo gas mileage (Gen 9)

So far I am getting about 26 mpg in the city. I haven't been able to do any highway trips yet. I'm hoping to get a little bit better mileage when the car gets more miles on it. I only have about 1200 miles on the car so far.

What are you getting for mileage?

re: 2.0 turbo gas mileage (Gen 9)

Got ~ 8800 miles on my 2LT and average 27-28 mixed with LOTS of city stop and go and have seen a 400 mile trip average as high as 36/37mpg at 75+ mph.

Cannot complain at all considering my previous 2.4l '11 Malibu saw low 20's mixed, 30 highway and was a pooch driving it.

I get an average 25-27 per tank. I drive a mix of city/highway. Almost every day for work is sitting in traffic at some point

A fair amount of highway driving on my Premier. Very pleased.

Re: 2.0 turbo gas mileage (Gen 9)

I just finished a 150 mile round trip with my 2016 2.0 Premier. According to the trip computer the best 50 mile mileage was 39.4 going and 40.7 MPG coming back. I don't know how accurate that is but I was very impressed when I saw that 40 number. That was doing 70 - 75 MPH slowing to 60 depending on the traffic. The car has just over 3300 miles.

I might add that the car was very stable, quiet and comfortable the entire trip....a great cruiser.

On a 1900 trip my average was 39.2 at 75 and under. Did show 49mpg keeping at 55 for 50 miles

Re: 2.0 turbo gas mileage (Gen 9)

Ever since the Trifecta tune, I have been averaging about 34 mpg, before it was about 31 mpg per tank. Thats with me still red-lining it at least 1-2 times a trip.

My poor girl already has over 16,000 miles on it now (I average about 3400+ a month) with lots of highway driving.

My "Best 25/50/450" is 46.7 for the 25, 44.3 for the 50, and 34.9 for the 450. I also have a lifetime count (Trip B was never touched by the dealer and so it matches the odometer) and that shows 30.4 mpg... but that includes a lot of rough times, including several trips to the racetrack, high speed runs, etc.

Before the tune, my best were a hair below 40. The tune really gave way to cruising MPGs

Re: 2.0 turbo gas mileage (Gen 9)

I was getting around 27-28 average with mostly city driving but now its around 25 or so. My only guess is that it's because it's winter now. I've noticed that the car gets worse gas mileage while it warms up (according to the computer).

I have no idea how anyone could get much over 37 average. I actually had my computer tell me my 25 mi best was 44 but again...no idea. I guess I must have been going 50ish for a long time with no stops to get that. What I've noticed is if I let it cruise at 70ish I can (at least before winter) get 37mpg. I think on a recent trip I was going 75 and got 34ish.
