Re: 2008 Malibu Transmission problems
Regarding the miles driven - my old Accord was great.
On a following note I bought and drove a 1995 Taurus 3.0 and when I gave the car away it had nearly 220,000 miles on it. The ONLY thing I had to do that car was a new battery and a new alternator and belt tension pully.
I drive my vehicles very easy - matter of fact my brake pads are still at 3/4 and today it turned 87,000 miles.
I fully expect, and demand, my vehicles to provide me service and a long one at that - if they don't then they shall be replaced.
In answer to revs - nothing changes on speed. The car engine revs up just a bit reflecting the change in RPM and then it returns in a few moments. It goes up and then down, up and then down. It does not matter whether or not the cruise is activated - it still does it.
The ONLY thing that seems to settle it down is when the engine is pulling slightly - just a long gentle grade will cause it to stop the up and down revving. But once back on level ground it starts the search again.
If I cannot get this resolved by the time the drivechain warranty runs out - I shall trade it off. Likely for a Honda, or possibly a Ford.
I have been a very loyal GM owner for well over 50 years but the way things have been going lately I strongly feel that will be coming to an end ---
It's up to you GM!!!!!
PS - when I bought and drove that Honda and also the Ford I used them for business and my personal vehicles have always been GM products. Just in case you are wondering. One of the better GM's I had was a 2001 1500 Suburban 4x4 and it was a great vehicle - replaced battery once, tires at 53,000 EGR valve once and the 4 wheel shift pad. Otherwise brakes were original, and everything else when I gave the unit away to a needy and deserving family. It has 96,000 miles on it when I gave it away.
