Back Seat Removal and Sound Deadener Application :)

Going to start by stating, this was not a fun car to take apart lol

http://img214.imageshack.us/g/phone411.jpg/

still need another 100$ worth of deadener but we got a good amount done.

I am prepping my car for my 22 cubic foot box for 8 12's that goes in sometime this month

Edit:The deadener used was Stinger Roadkill, and it is amazing stuff and easy to apply

Re: Back Seat Removal and Sound Deadener Application :)

I don't understand the design or where you would have room for that; does it take up the whole trunk? Maybe I just have to see a real photo.

Also, if you don't mind my asking, how much was all the deadener, when all is said and done?

The design is a 4th order clamshell. The subs are inverted, firing into the sealed section then ported through the middle.

I took the backseats out and we are walling the car off completely from the front of the box back. Box is roughly 48 width, 32 height, and 32 depth. After sub displacement and port the box comes up to 7 cubes sealed, and 14 cubes ported.

The deadener was 100$ for 9 18x32 sheets. Stinger roadkill was amazing to work with too!. I will probably need another 100$ worth. But for normal use ONE 9 pack like I got should be plenty!

Wow, $100 for 9 sheets.. that sounds pretty cheap. This is probably what I'll go with. I'm being a little more modest though, only 2 12's haha. Do you think for subs in the trunk I would only have to sound-proof the trunk?

Re: Back Seat Removal and Sound Deadener Application :)

Nice work! I need to do that to mine, the sub seems to be creating more rattles than I had when I first put it in. That is a good deal for the sound deadener. I was looking at fatmat which is a little more for cost. I just want to do the back half of my car mainly and under the headliner. Is that box going to be put together in the car?

09' Malibu LTZ with brick leather interior
4 cyl w/6 speed auto
Silver Ice Metallic paint

Mods: PTM bow ties, grill, washer nozzles, and fog light trim
-20% tint
-MTX600XD, 2 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1, 4 gauge stinger wire, Pioneer 7800MP CD player
-5000K HID headlights and 3000K fog lights
-White LED's in the switches and handles
-Blacklight overhead console LED's
-Painted and polished factory aluminum wheels
