Oil Filter Location - 2.5L ?

I have been looking for the oil filter on my new 2013 LS with 2.5L engine and can't find it. Do I have to jack the car up to get at it? Thanks

If it is anything like the 2.4 it should be on top of the engine under the hood.

Re: Oil Filter Location - 2.5L ?

When I search for an image of the 2.5 engine, the engines shown, use a spin on filter mounted underneath. If you search Fram or Mobil for a filter used on a 2013 malibu 2.5 engine, it shows you a spin on canister filter. I guess GM has gone backwards on this one.

Yes it is a spin-on oil filter. I have spent some time looking under the hood with a flashlight but cannot see it. I am now assuming I will have to jack the car up to get underneath to find it.

Is the ground clearance on cars decreasing or have I just gained weight?

read that its close to the cat on the exhaust manifold and was kindly informed that a PF 64 from AC Delco is the correct OE filter fot the 2.5L

This is from 2012 how is it brought back up? Anyway, my 2.5L oil filter is right in front of the drain plug. The filter is straight up and down
