: What do you think of aftermarket grill?
JJones_86 04-21-2008, 09:04 PM I really like the front end of the LTZ, but I got a 2LT and I figured I'd just buy the chrome grill instead. What do you think of this? http://www.shopsar.com/Chevrolet-Malibu-Grille-p/1064-0102-08.htm
I also plan on getting the windows tinted 20% all the way around.
salgeek 04-21-2008, 09:38 PM I think it looks great. I've been considering this modification as well.
08MalibuLeaser 04-22-2008, 06:07 AM That's "PHAT" - is that how the kids are saying it now?
JJones_86 04-22-2008, 06:48 AM Yeah, I'm hoping it will look good on the Metallic Black.. I don't know if I'd put the third grill at the bottom in... What do you think about the 3rd one?

I'd go for all three locations. You can never have too much chrome!
salgeek 04-22-2008, 07:18 AM I second - installing the third grill.
Malibooboo 04-22-2008, 09:17 AM Looks very nice. Another $200 future mod to put on the list.....

not since the first Rush Hour movie lol
im getting the chrome grill ASAP. I have a black mali and i think it will look sick
plgtx 04-22-2008, 10:50 AM I would love that grill. The current grill already stands out on the Black Metallic...that would just make it POP!
I'm just debating if I would want to do it since I'm on a Smart Buy.
I like it but I just don't want to fall back into the whole customizing thing like I did with my Bug. I think that and the door pillar chrome add ons would look damn good. GRRRR...DAMN YOU AFTERMARKET GOODIES, YOU TEMPT ME WITH YOUR SINFUL PLEASURES!
bignick 04-22-2008, 12:42 PM same grill is cheaper on ebay
i can make my own for about $60, i might sell a few
I was thinking about just painting the one that is on the car already. I know you can get chrome paint. Maybe i will do a "how to"

I wouldn't ;) that so called "chrome paint" ain't what they say it is
Malibooboo 04-24-2008, 02:04 PM Would the mesh on these grills affect air flow into the engine? Will it "attract" more bugs that need to be cleaned off? ;)

I don't see why it would affect any air flow, I mean, there is already a black mesh grill on the malibu. As far as attracting more bugs, the only issue I see with that is that you'd have an extra grill on the bottom to clean. Not that big of a deal. When I get some extra money and after window tint, I'll be getting this. Hopefully by August, so don't expect some pictures until then. :)

JJones_86 04-26-2008, 08:18 AM SLACKER! ;)
LOL, no, I am a college student paying for a Malibu. haha
08MalibuLeaser 04-27-2008, 06:44 AM not saving your money for beer?
2008LTZcrazy 04-30-2008, 02:16 PM It is hard to tell from the picture, but it looks really similar to the LTZ grill, the only difference would be it is stainless.
I would like the stainless better than the plastic.
2008LTZcrazy:
Can you explain how you special ordered the c/c interior with the Dark Gray Met? Did the dealer get a special code or do you have inside connections?
I had asked about a similar G'Pewter with the c/c and was told there was no way to get it.
Was there an extra cost to your set up?
DrD

I went to several dealerships and asked them to try and order it for me, all but one told me no. The one I got it from found it at another dealership. From what I have been told I own 1 of 2 like this in the western US. I don't know how they managed to get that combo, because you can't special order it on the GM website either, but I got it. And for a good price too. I am stoked. Didin't think it was possible. Just as I was getting used to the idea of ebony/brick interior.
mnbowtie 05-01-2008, 09:16 AM VERY nice. It almost looks better than the LTZ grill. I'd put on my 'bu.
jedijome 05-01-2008, 11:47 AM i'd put it on mine too but it sounds like a lot of work and i don't want to go about messing with the front end of the car and taking it off and what not. plus i'm not sure if too many shops around here have even seen a 2008 malibu so i don't really want to be a guinea pig for them. ah well i'll wait a year or two. :D
