The UAW is really making things difficult for themselves and GM. If they keep being a pain in GM's butt every time a contract comes up, GM might move productions to Mexico where people will work! Malibu and G6 production numbers are on the way up and GM needs to make money with or without UAW. The UAW should really focus on their customers and get a good reputation and public favor back before getting all strike happy.

Does anone know what the dealer inventory levels are up to? I suspect there's not more that a 2 week supply.

GM is looking for the Malibu to take a chunk of the import market away. A strike now with little dealer inventory will douse that hope. Hopefully the other Malibu plant will be able to increase production levels to at least meet demand.

Not Good
According to the AP, GM has a 30/40 day supply of Malibus on hand but if this isn't settled quick things could get Ugly.

Don't count on the union caring about the health of GM or the economy in general. It's all about them and them only.
