I'd like to extend to all my Malibu Forum friends my wishes for a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend. Although the reason for the Holiday is a solemn one it is also the official start of the summer season. Many of us will be traveling to the shore or the mountains or staying home and enjoying friends and family at backyard picnics.

The weather here in SE Pa. is ideal for the entire weekend. :D

However you decide to celebrate the weekend post a photo or two, showing us what you did to mark the occasion. If your 'Bu is in the picture all the better!

House work today, Debbie had to work all three days. I may get out for a bicycle ride before the storms hit.
Yesterday I got out for a short motorcycle ride to visit the Freedom Rock.

Bummer that Debbie had to work, is she a nurse, Lee?

Your trip to Freedom Rock was a great way to keep the Holiday in perspective.

My Holiday started out with a bit of stress. I had a Weber Genesis 1000 that was 14 years old. Two weeks ago, it literally collapsed! Well with the Memorial Holiday approaching and a crowd coming I needed to replace it quick. I ordered, from Amazon, a new Weber Genesis E320. I received it Wednesday evening and built it Thursday. Here's a photo:

We traditionally have our family picnic at my house on the Sunday before Memorial day. That gives me a day to recover before returning to work. Here are a few photos:

One of my daughters:

My wife Jeanette and one of my many G-Daughters. The flag cake is kind of a tradition with this G-daughter. She likes to help decorate it and has been doing for the last 5 or 6 years.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday as much as we did!

No she is a department manager at Wal-Mart and they are getting ready for inventory. She usually works this weekend to keep all the Memorial flowers stocked. Most of the year it is Mon through Friday for her.

The new grill is justa bit larger than the old one, so it worked out perfectly. I found the Menu Board many years ago at a craft show, The G-Kids like to write up the menu.

I want cake!
That's long gone Eric, sorry!

Was it like the home improvement store add where a feather lands on the guys grill and it falls into a pile of rust. Good add :D

Was it like the home improvement store add where a feather lands on the guys grill and it falls into a pile of rust. Good add :DI haven't seen that ad, but damn near.

When I mow grass I usually wheel the grill off that little base I built for it. Then I can mow right over the base and eliminate any trimming. Once mowed, I pull the grill back into place. The last time I tried to pull it back onto the base, the cart crumbled into a rusted pile. The frame work rusted from the inside out. There was no sign of rust externally. I couldn't replace the cart or build a new one quickly enough for the weekend. It was 14 years old and I never really took good care of it, weatherwise. A total replacement seemed to be the best option.

Buying it through Amazon saved me sales tax and shipping was free.
