I just discovered a small (2 cm) but fairly deep scratch above one of the doors in our Gold Mist Metallic Malibu. What's the best way to fix this?

Lucky you can buy a little bottle of touch up from the dealer for $10 and touch it up or have it done at a body shop for a few hundred dollars. At 60 miles an hour or 25 ft away the touch up will look just fine.:) Also much cheaper.

use the touch-up paint you get from your dealer and then put this on approximately 4-5 hours later.. worked for me and now i can't even find out where my scratch was.

Oh yeah btw I'm an idiot so if I could figure it out I have no doubt you could.. you basically spill a bit on a cloth and wipe it down and it's totally repaired and blended.. don't ask me how it works I was amazed.

Thats some good info there TM. I'll have to remember that in case I ever need touch up. And luckycat won't have to worry about the 60 and 25 either:D

i don't trust touch up paint personally. we have a nice deep scratch in our door. i'll pull the whole door and paint it

Cool! Thank you. I'll check it out. This is a fairly small scratch, but it is deep. It is not very noticeable to the average Joe but now that I know it's there my eyes are glued to it every time I walk by. I would say it's not big enough at all to warrant pulling off the door.

no problem! just make sure that you use only a tiny bit of your touch-up paint.. otherwise you'll have to use extra blob eliminator and rub down extra hard.. all the [very simple] directions obviously are included in the box.
