I recently bought a 2005 Malibu. From everything I've seen and read the 2005 Malibu has the option of XM radio. My factory Head unit has the band button, so if the XM were installed I would be able to get to the XM stations. Can anyone tell me if this is true? Everyone that I talk to in town tells me that they would have to "tear" my car apart to tell me if it's XM compatible. Which I think is crap...
Does anyone know how to tell? I know that my car is the new body style, not the classic.
I've actually torn apart the dash, because I bought a SIR-GM1 for it, but my factory head unit didn't have the factory bus already connected to it. So when I try and connect the SIR-GM1 up, the T-Harness requires the factory bus from the vehicle side, so it's not working. I can't get the XM1 or XM2 options on the head unit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And sorry if this is somewhere else, I tried searching for XM, but the forum requires 4 letter words...
Thanks!
Heidi
