I can't remember the questoions.. I bought a new 2009 LTZ. First new car in my life. Quite a cool feeling. Goes like stink too. I'm planning on putting it on a dyno tester to see what the truth is about the output.

Welcome, m1d!

Look at my signature - my first new car ever as well. And mine goes like stink, too! Hey, do ya think both of ours are little skunks from the same litter? ;)

I test drove a Kia Optima with 4-cylinder, but it shook so badly at idle up to about 1500 that it didn't even make the final cut. Then I drove a Cobalt, which was smoother, faster, and $5000 cheaper! But I wanted a larger car so I tested a 'Bu with 4-cylinder. It was smooth as well, fairly strong for a 4, and felt nice and tight. Then I drove a V6/A6 and started asking about colors. SOLD!

I've read posts from others and we should be in the ballpark of 0-60 in 6 seconds, and up in the high 90's in the 1/4-mile. On top of all that, the I4 is EPA rated at 33, the V6 at 26. I can easily get 30-32, and I'll bet if I put my mind to it, I can get more.

Can't argue with power, economy, styling, handling, fun, and power. And all in one package! (Did I say power twice? My bad!)

If you make it to the dyno, please post your results. If you can take some pics or video, please share as well. I'm sure most of us are patiently waiting; the rest of us are chomping at the bit!

M1D I also wanted to buy an LTZ but back in 2008 when I bought my LT the backorder on the LTZ was too long so I settled for the LT. Also in 2008 they did not offer the ebony/brick interior and I was not very fond of the interior choices. Im happy with the interior, but wish I would have gone for the LTZ as the paddle shift and the power is good compared to the LT

I have to tell you the padle shift is just for boasting. You use it one or twice and and then just now and then to show people. I find It shifts slower then the auto shift and others have said the same so if you really want to get moving I use the auto.

I almost did not buy the LTZ because of the limmited interiors. I didn't want leather, I wanted the suade or cloth that the LT comes in. Where I live leather is always too cold and even with heated seats its literaly a pain in the a$$ to have to wait for them to warm up.

I checked oput a few other makes when shopping, The loaded ford fusion was a comperable car but the interior choices where equally slim but even more undesireable because the leather in the ford is way thicker and harder. So on that note the softer GM leather was the better choice. Some people will argue with me on build quality, but I am an aeronotical engineer and I have worked in many vehicle fields all my life so I trust my own assesment of build quality. I found the GM to have a higher standard of build quality then the ford. The comparable fusion was also abour $3000 more and ford could note come close to GM on the financing options. Although I do have some posative things to say about the ford, one is the put the MP3 Ipod and USB ports inside the consol compatment so you can have your phone and things pluged in, hidden from veiw and without wires hanging all over your shifter. (smart thinking there).

I'n the end, the Malibu won on many accounts. (may the best car win) is the GM sales slogin here, and it did win.

I won't be getting the malibu onto the dyno for a month or two, I have to get my 65 chevy van on the dyno first, likely this week.

Heres something for yopu all to look at in the time being.

I was hoping those to be naked lady pictures, but I guess the LTZ should do for now haha.

yea, in terms of interior I like the suede as its pretty comfortable and not cold to shit on but wish I had the fogs the auto climate, even the rear a/c outlet you got. I failed to choose those options :( stupid me!

I never knew the gauges were different, first time I seen them like that. Suprised GM made new ones for the LTZ/09 models......

so besides that how else do you like the car, I personally bought it because I liked the interior (but no arm rest in back!!! wtf?)

As interesting as those pictures are (love the colors!), I was most entertained by the ice fishing video. I won't give it away - you'll have to go see it yourself.
