: Painted a wheel, whatcha think?

I kinda liked the black look, but kinda didn't on a white car. So, found some temporary paint. The can said white, but it was actually silver. However, I like the new look...

I'm thinking about rotating tires next weekend, and will probably go ahead, and just paint them all with actual white paint. Then put the black lug covers back on...

whatcha think?

Not bad looking, kind of remids me of the Rally wheels that Chevrolet put on several models from the late 60's into the 70's that were Argent Silver.

Looks like a spare tire, not very apeasing to the eye

Essentialy they are, but looks better than chromed plastic, I've decided against new wheels. I'd rather spend that money on the Jeep, Buick, Belvedere or Bimmer. The Bu was bought for daily duty not a toy.

It just screams cheap base model... :( I will say for wheel covers they are pretty good looking, and I can always put them back on any time, but for now I like the painted look.

I've been running with the black steelies for a couple weeks now. I think of it as a Chevelle for now...

I'm actually looking for a set of black steelies for my 67 Belvedere. Sometimes spare wheels just look good.

ya thats exactly why everyone sticks spare tires in their trunk instead of on their car, because spares look better

See guys, goose agrees with me!

Eh, I still like the look for now. I think of them as my anti-bling!

Hum, I gotta say it looks much better then I thought it would. If it had some kind of centercap it would be damn good. I actually like white wheels on certain colors. Many race cars run white wheels.

put the black caps from the hubs and give it a little cleaner look so the studs dont show.

No offense, but what you did screams cheap base model. You really didn't score any brownie points IMO. It would look better with the plastic hub.

Well, I've been running with those high quality, little plastic chrome thingies... but after that supportive comment, I'm going back to my spare wheels for a while. I didn't realize people in the ghetto did such radical stuff...

they just look terrible. If you want better rims you should go buy some or have bought a better model.

To each their own......

point taken... Conform, closer... I like them white. Subtley different, and I got the best model for me, V6, cloth and only the options I wanted. No need to pay more just for OEM wheels. I got some 18's in the garage and when it's time for new tires they'll go on. The 'bu is a great car, but it's it's at the bottom of the list for mod money/time. I never realize pulling the covers would cause such a stink... but glad to hear other's opnions.

not my taste but head to a parts store and find some small "axle" caps they are usually brass looking. I am sure you could find one to slide in there...cost maybe $5 for a set of them and paint them the same color. that would pull away from the "spare tire" look. you could also get new lugs (black ones) they just have to be the same thread and pitch maybe a small capped acorn style..

sorry i brought a dead post back to life lol

The stock chrome-looking wheel covers are cheap, noisy and crappy. I've already broken two of them hitting potholes. Painting the stock steel wheels, as Closer9 did doesn't look too bad. It is certainly cheaper than $800 - $1000 in new wheels.

Dont care for it....need some 2lt wheels or chrome....

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I took my wheel cover off today to see what the wheel itself looked like, and I kinda like them. It even looks good in the factory black.

Yeah, I kinda went back and forth with the covers. Though I always hated the rattling covers. If I could have found a good center cap I probably would have just kept them. However, I sold them around Christmas and put on a set of G6 18's...
