Does anyone know what I am looking for as far as the size of socket needed to remove the oil filter cap. Called advance auto they have no clue what I am talking about. Anyone sell these online , I tried e-bay with negative results. Maybe I am not putting in the correct info.

Here is a link to some. link It is either the 32mm or the 36mm. I have also seen them at PepBoys. You will definitely want a shallow well if you get one. The way the air intake runners are designed, it's really hard to get any thing else in there.

I bought mine from Advance Auto. It was near the other oil filter wrenches and says it is specifically for GM Ecotech 2.4 engines on the packaging.

You need the 32mm socket. Got mine from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-14700-Filter-Wrench-2-2L/dp/B0009OMYAQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1253124890&sr=1-3

snap on sells a special fit socket for the ecotec engines. its about 20-25 dollars, had mine since i started wrenching. the size you are looking for is a 1-1/4" socket. the snap on one works the best in my opinion, its short, and you just put an extension on the top of it, and your good to go. no clearance issues like other style filter wrenches have.
