I can`t show you my mags yet because we still have alot of snow up here but I have American Racing Casino wheels 5x110 7.5in with an offset of 42mm and I think they will look great on my Malibu.I will post a picture as soon as I get them on ,about a month or so.You can check them out and others at American racing web site.

I guess I asked this question on the wrong topic board, here's a copy:

Wheel & Tire Question:

If you want to trade in your 17" set up and put on full size 18" wheels and tires can the dealer's service people readjust the computer to keep the numbers right?

I wouldn't want to get larger wheels and thin tires that don't fill up the wells.

In my bug I was sporting some Konig Burners and was thinking about seeing how they look on this car. My dad drives my bug now and I know he's not all into the whole aftermarket thing. The bug had a 5 lug setup also and the rims were a universal 5 lug. I assume they should fit. I know the Mali is a 5 x 110 spacing on the lugs. I think the Bug was a 5 x 100. But I figure if they were universal that the other set of 5 holes on them would be the 5 x 110 spacing I need.
Only downsde is that the rims are 16" and with the 205/55/16 I had on the Bug the rim to rubber to wheel well size was perfect. I know my Mali is a 16 also but has more rubber so it may make the rim look smaller. I'll just have to see how they look.

Incase u want to see what Burners look like, here ya go: http://www.konigwheels.com/images/304_s.jpg

I painted mine black tho.

I thought the Malibu came with 17", with 18" on the LTZ.

No I have an LS...it came stock 16's. I'd like to keep the feel of the ride so I'd stay with the same size tires as stock.

Got my answer direct from the dealer's service people. They are quite sure they can flash the correct code into the computer to make up for the tire dia difference. Now the big question is can I afford the classy wheels.

The photo gallery works just fine for me. Only 18 photos in there so far.

As a matter of fact the shot with the wild looking naked babe on the front hood is my favorite. -- Take a peek...

I have to apologize to those forum viewers that didn't get to see that photo I mentioned the other day.

It was something I posted and unfortunately I decided to take it down already. I later realized that the picture was just too personal and off topic. You see it wasn't really a Malibu, it was my old red Ferrari, and the chick on the hood was my wife. Of course she was in much better shape back then. Now she's all worn out and rusted. I may even have to trade her in to afford the Malibu if I still want the fancy chrome wheels. So I guess I’ll use the Malibu for work and save the Ferrari for the weekends.

i have found that the dealler said that the bigest rim size you cabn go is a 19" but the down side to that is that all the top end cars like Ferrari, and porshe run 19" so they are vary pricey to get. i have got a set 20" to bolt up with no real mods down to tuck, they look great but to rub when i hit any big pot holes, the trick is to run a low pro tire like 255/30/r20, or smaller aka runflats, or ruberbands.

Ok, so yesterday I'm at the local McDonalds and a Chevy Equinox (sp) pulled up with some nice factory rims. My question is would those rims fit on the Mali?

I would assume the lug pattern is the same size. If i were to put rims on my car I would really like them to be official Chevy products, badge and all. I'd really like to have a list of Chevy's that have the same lug pattern.

The lug pattern on the Malibu (5-110) is different than the Equinox (5-115).
I believe the Pontiac G-6 and the Saturn Aura have 5-110.

Do you have a picture of the Malibu with 20's on it? I haven't seen one with aftermarket rims yet, and I want to put 20's on mine but wanted to see what it looked like first. Actually I haven't seen many '08 Malibu's in my area, and no other LTZ's.

what size are those tires? they are really low profile. how much smaller are those tires compared to the stock tires on the 18" ltz rims? how does it ride? is it still a smooth ride? handling?

Amazing. I can see the headlines now...."Man turns beautiful new Malibu into BUICK - World wonders why?"

Looks like he stuck the chrome jibberish from the new Focus on the lower door panel...my goodness....how embarrassing for a grown up.

I like the way they fill up the wheel wells but wtf is up with the vents and those things on the doors? That car has such a natural classy look that adding the little things like that pull away from it. But to each their own I guess.

I would LOVE to put rims on my car but I also love how smooth it rides with the stock 16's on them. And I know to go to a lower profile tire would just alter that feeling....AND 16's are so much cheaper to replace than 19's or 20's.

Ya'll need to lay off the insults on his car. Cars are nothing but opinions anyway, so if you don't like it that doesn't mean it's garbage.

Never said it was garbage! - Took me by suprise with the vents on the side. Never actually said anything negative.

I agree also...to each their own, it's just not my taste....Kudo's for doing something original though.
