Now I know that this is supposed to mean that there is a bulb out on the right side, but I checked and both the front and rear are working on that side (both sides, for that matter).
Am I missing something? How many signal bulbs are there on an '09 LTZ? One on each side in the front and same on the back, right?

If your positive you don't have a bulb out, it could be a switch.

In most cases it would be that the front bulb has burned out causing the hyperflashing of the signal. There should only be one bulb up front for the turn signal, the rear I think only has one. The rear taillights would be the easiest to check though, just pull back the carpet in the trunk to access the wing nuts that hold the taillights to the body then you can carefully pull the assembly away ffrom the car to access the bulb area. The front is another story, the whole front bumper has to be removed to replace any light.

I'm certain that they're all working. We checked them 3 times today. The turn signal light definitely flashes on both the front and back. In fact, we check ALL lights and don't see any that are out!

Better take it to the dealer when you can, it won't be with the switch, turn signal switch, it gonna be with something else if not a bulb.

The signals work via a relay switch, I wasn't refering to the stalk on the steering wheel. Sometimes they do go bad. If you say all your bulbs are good it would be the next thing. But if your under warranty, just take it in and let them deal with it. ;)

Would a license plate light being out cause this behavior?

It shouldn't cause the turn signal problem, because it is not on the same circuit.

Try turning on your hazzard flashers, and look for symetry. If the right side doesn't match the left, then you found your problem.

Who's spreading mis-information? Not me, for one it a multi function switch on the column but it won't have anything to do with this problem. Nor would the relay cause if either of these part were the problem the turn signal probably won't work as I've seen when those parts fail.
And if others are calling it something else then it means they don't know.

The problem is gonna be up front with that side only, but since the car is not seen at to the cause then all you are doing is grabbing at straws.

Update for this issue......Sorry to revive an old thread, but my 09 Bu was doing this ( flashing very quick to the left no bulbs out) In conjunction with the signals not canceling after turning on occasion. The service adviser in London Ontario Canada told me it was a known issue and GM have updated the Multi Function switch and ordered one in for my car.
What next for my Bu ? Who knows..............
