Hey folks. So after much hassle over the last couple weeks with my dealership they finally came clean yesterday and told me they weren't expecting to get any more 16" steel rims in any time soon. What a jerk around that's been the last few weeks.

I already have 215/60R-16 winters ready to go, I just need the stupid rims, but I want them to fit properly. I've got a 2009 Hybrid, with these specs:

Centre Bore: 65.1
Offset: 34-42mm
Bolt pattern: 5-110

I was at Crappy Tire yesterday and they couldn't give me the exact specs on their multi-fit rims, and their supplier (Palmer) has no online info either. Does anyone have more info on their rims, or know where to get it? I'll try my luck again tomorrow with a different employee/store since I"m sure there's some luck involved too O_o But in the meantime, I'm hoping someone here knows :)

Have any of you purchased Canadian Tire steelies (or multi-fits anywhere else for that matter), in particular the 16" with your 'Bu's? Did you use hugcentric rings to make it more snug to your hub?

And, maybe more importantly, there are two 16" options to choose from from Cdn. Tire:

5x100
5x115
there's no 5x110, which is what our stock spec is..

Should I be looking at buying the 5x115 (part# X43655)? (http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/1/TiresRims/RimsWinter/PRD~0095956P/16-in.%2BMulti-fit%2BSteel%2BRim.jsp)

I've done a lot of researching on this but I'm really new when it comes to multi-fit rims. Any and all help, info, and/or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers

Don’t go to Crappy Tire, try a tire shop instead. The rims I got were used, but what was left of the sticker stated 42mm offset. I was told that you cannot use hub centric rings on steel wheels. I was told by my dealer that GM didn’t make 16” wheels for the Malibu. Just go to a tire shop, they will be able to tell you right away and why risk your car to Crappy Tire.

This is exactly what you need and available on eBay for the price of 4 steel wheels at Crappy Tire:

Here what your car will look like with these wheels :

Thanks guys.

I ended up going back to the "old" GM dealer who use to service my Grand Am -they didn't sell Chevys when I bought the Malibu, so I gave the new dealership a shot at my parts/service business too. Anyway, the dealership who sold me the 'Bu also (eventually) told me GM doesn't have 16" steelies for the Malibus... but it took the other dealership I use to go to all of 5 minutes to look up the hub specs on the 08's and compare to the '09 (which is what I have), and they're a perfect match of course. So within 4 days he had the 16" steels (listed only as for the '08 models in their computer system I guess) there and on my car. $70/ea.

Pretty drastic difference in service between dealerships, but I guess that happens in every industry.
