Today I removed all of the emblems from my Malibu, but I was wondering if you can remove the bowtie on the trunk?

Are there holes behind it?

I have a black granite Malibu and would love for the bowties to be black, but I think I would rather just not have one on the trunk.

Ive seen this done before, however I dont know if there are holes behind it. I would think probably not.

.

From what I remember reading in earlier posts there are holes behind the trunk bowtie.

there are alignment holes, you'd have to weld them up.

OK so I am not going to mess with holes in the trunk, so should I paint the bowties or does anyone know of a website to buy decals made for our bowties?

Which is better?

Anyone painted the bowties a while ago and having problems with the paint peeling or anything?

I painted mine and they came out very well IMO. Just wetsand it down slightly and spray it if decals aren't available.

painted mine, it will hold up. Just prep it correctly.
