Hey all stupid me I bought this thinking I could get it to work in my truck because my wifes Bu has the blue tooth in it. but no go. it is the VCIM module that will allow you vehicle to have the blue tooth functionality. all you will need is the GM blue tooth antenna which is about 40 bux at the dealer.

I cannot guarantee that your onstar will work, but this was reported to be a new virgin module not registered to any vehicle so from all that I have read Onstar will be able to connect it to your vehicle. some have reported that it can be done via onstar other have to take it to the dealer.. I did not care about onstar so I was just in it for the blue tooth.. So I make no guarantees about the onstar but if you have a 09 Malibu or Pontiac G6 or saturn Aura you can install this module and the antenna and have the factory blue tooth in your vehicle..

Its not that there is no interest, I'd be all over this thing but being unemployed makes me think twice. If my situation changes for the better, I would purchase this thing quickly. Just hope its still available till then.

wouldn't this be useless if you upgrade your HU to one that comes with bluetooth? Correct me if I'm wrong I don't know much about this subject. My car doesn't have the Bluetooth but I'm hoping to soon upgrade my HU

Sorry but what is a HU.. and this is the correct module for a malibu that DOES NOT have bluetooth.. So if you want to upgrade your non bluetooth malibu to have blue tooth you can install this module and have the bluetooth functionality but will lose Onstar (Onstar emergency assistance will still function) I did this to my 07 GM truck and love it.. You can pair up to 5 phones and store 30 numbers.. all you will need is the BT antenna

HU head unit, so like I said if I buy an aftermarket head unit I will loose this correct?

I am not sure.. but bit I believe silverLTZ guy changed out his head unit and still retains his bluetooth connectivity.. He would have to chime in on that to be sure!
