Really? Where did you see that? Surely it was in one of our older threads because I do not tolerate that on my forum. I saw that you registered on our site but never activated the account (you used the same username right?). I suggest you activate your account and try it out because the impression you currently have I can assure you is faulty.

We have been around for over 4 yrs and so we have a lot of members (700) and tons of threads (10s of thousands) so there is a lot of good info there, Our traffic has slowed the past 8-12 months due to members disagreeing with some of the policies the old management put into effect shortly before I purchased the forum. So now that I have it, I am trying to rejuvenate our member activity.

I hope you guys give it another shot.

I myself am from Mississauga Ontario Canada. How about you guys>?

Ktulu - I replied to your thread in our General Discussion section.

I am in Cambridge, Ontario but work in Brampton.

Welcome to our club....I will have to get over to your site and check it out.

Cheers.

Hi Ktulu,

I will give it another shot. I just think it could use some cleaning up, and not just the threads but I mean the whole layout. It seems very cluttered and one of the reasons I like this site is that it is well layed out and simple.

I used to live in Mississauga, but now I live near Oshawa

Hey grapes there is another layout you can use. I actually prefer. Just go to ur user CP and look for board preferences and change the board style to Glacier and see how you like it.

Zeev - Nice welcome to the club!

I used to live in the Forest Heights area of Kitchener, but moved to Cambridge because of where I work, much easier access to the 401 and my commute time went down by 30 minutes.

Where you located in K/W?

I'm off Fisherhallman and Ottawa street near Aptiva.. I'm about 3 minutes away by car from highway 7E exit :-)

Looking forward to getting the Malibu... Will try and post pictures when I get the car

Welcome Zeev. I ordered my 09 LTZ in mid June and still haven't received it. Originally it was supposed to be built the week of August 18th, then it was pushed to September 22 and now, apparently its been built this week (Sept 8th) so I should have it in a week or 2 finally.

Was your LTZ being pushed around? Are you getting the 4 cyl or the v6?

I'm living in the Oshawa area, went to school at Wilfrid Laurier though.

Hello Grapes,

Placed the order at the end of August and was advised it should be ready in October. So they haven't pushed it back yet but I won't be surprised from what I am hearing if they push it back from October.

White exterior, coca cashmere interior. Ordered the tire pressure gauge which looks like it was removed from as the 08 had it as standard. Selected Bluetooth and that's about it.. No sunroof the sunroof wasn't worth the extra 2K if I recall correctly. (I would have liked it but it went over my budget.. Technically the LTZ was at the upper limit of my budget probably could have gone with the 2LT..)

As for the engine I went with the 4 cyl 6 speed :-) I test drove a 4 cycle 4 speed and the 6 cyl and the 6 was fun. However the 4cyl was enough for me. With the 6 speed should be even more fun!

So hopefully October I get the car if not I'm in no Rush trade in value is guaranteed..

Wow that's a pretty quick turn around, I order the v6 LTZ and apparently they are building a lot more 4 currently so your delivery date makes sense. I believe the tire pressure monitor is standard in the LTZ for 09 as well.

I could not justify the V6 as much as I wanted to with the loss of fuel economy. The dealership said about 2 months hence October. But it does make sense the V6 would take longer for your delivery.

Hopefully you get it soon! I can't wait for mine.

Zeev - Most definately will have to post some pics!

I was greedy and went to the LT2 instead of the LTZ (for other reasons also) but I got the sunroof, and the V6 - Although I am "careful" with my foot in the V6 I am getting really good gas mileage so far....got 675KM to my first tank and it should get better after the break in period and the first oil change....I am pulling for 700 KM when all is said and done.

By the way I know exactly the area you are talking about where you live....You are south of the expressway I was North in the older part between Fisherhalman and Trussler.

Maybe we can meet sometime for a coffee when you get your baby.

Photos will be forthcoming when I get the car.. Wow sunroof for you congrats, its a nice feature but with all the other features in the LTZ it wasn't worth the extra $$$

As for mileage 675KM on the V6 is pretty amazing can't imagine what it would be with the V4 hopefully 700-900 but that might be wishful thinking.

When I get the car we can setup a time to meet for coffee and you can view the car :-)

Yeah, the sunroof I got hooked on from my wife's car (2005 Vibe) really enjoyed it when I drive her car. Same as you couldn't justify the extra $$$ for the LTZ but was still able to pick up the "nice to haves" with the 2LT.

For sure - Send me a message when you get it!

Cheers!

Hey DOA,

How are you getting 675 on the v6? a lot of highway? do you use the cruise quite a bit?

DOACanada
09-12-2008, 11:08 AM
Grapes - ALL HIGHWAY - Very little city at all. I don't use the cruise that much I live in Cambridge (just off Townline Road Exit) and work in Brampton (407 and Dixie). My commute is 67.5 KM's one way....(Alot better than the 110 plus I was driving awhile ago).

I don't hard accelerate, no jack rabbit starts, coast down to a stop, and I keep it 2000 rpm's on the highway - which is about 120 km/h.....I am on pace right now for another 650 plus tank but I was playing around this week and gobbled up some gas.

My hope and from what I am being told 700 plus is completely obtainable after some more break in and the first oil change.

Hi Grapes, I'm having issues with my 2LT that was scheduled for Aug 18 also. But they tell me the unit was built that week, it was just never released by the factory. Is your unit coming from Lake Orion, Michigan also ? I have 2LT with the 4cyl 6AT combo. So maybe the real reason that they have not shipped is that is was never built and push back like yours.

Here is the first picture of our new 2LT. It arrived last Thursday and it sure does sparkle. The colour is beautiful - Gold Mist Metallic with Cocoa/Medium Cashmere interior. Here's my first attempt at uploading a picture so I hope it works. My first car, in '62, was a '57 Chevy, 2 dr hardtop - what a car. After several years, North American cars started to let me down, so in 1990 I followed the crowd to the Japanese imports, and boy have I been happy with the 4 cars I've owned since I made that decision. However, this year news about the Malibu caught my eye, and after some comparison shopping I've decided to move back to Chevy. Let's hope I can be as happy as the members of this forum appear to be.
