On my 2001 Malibu I have a noise that sounds like it's coming from the drivers side wheel bearing. When I am turning to the left or going straight it has like a whirring sound but it disappears when turning to the right. I was going to replace the wheel bearing hub but a mechanic took it for a ride and said nothing is wrong with bearing. If you grab the wheel there is no play or wobble. He said it sounds like wind noise. Does this sound feasible. I still have the hub with bearing and can replace it but if it is not the problem I'm out $100.
