: How old is the Principal Driver?

I think it may be interesting to see the age demographic of the '08 Malibu.

The wife will turn 60 this year.

My wife is 51.

As the site and Malibu ownership grow, I wonder if the current statistic will remain a constant. So far, 66% of the principal drivers are over 41 and older.

Does anyone know what age demographic Chevy is shooting for with the new Malibu?

I think the demographics will be good for GM if they match ours...31-50 is the sweet spot in the market, and since the Malibu isn't an entry-level car, those are the groups that GM should should be shooting for, IMO.

The Malibu amazes me with it's wide range of age appeal. I realize it's not a scientific poll, but still. Almost all age groups are finding this car and buying it.

Interesting that the 21-30 range is purchasing this ride...good sign for GM

I'm pretty much the principal driver in our family. Ever since I've been able to drive, my parents have taken a break from driving a lot.

The issue is that you still have us baby boomers going through the society. We were always car people and grew up hot rodding etc. Still go to the drags, read all the car mags etc. Im just turning 60 as are all the boomers. They were born between 1948 and 1964.

So Im thinking the cars (all cars) will still be popular with us.

I think that Honda was caught off guard when the Element was bought up by the wifes etc. It was thought to be for the kids to put their Mountain bike, snow boards, skate boards etc. but the moms and dads found it be a small van to walk through etc.

I'm 33 and this is my midlife crisis.
Interestingly here in NJ, Concerning the older Malibus (N Bodies) they are driven by little ol ladies. The ones I saw anyway. This new Z body seems to be the Middle age crowd. My observation anyway.

Add one to the 20-30 age group (barely though, I'm 29). I love it! It's a sporty lookin' almost luxury car (at least that's how it feels upgrading from a Sunfire). My aunt has a Cadi and says she likes the interior of the new Malibu better! I have the Coco/Cashmere interior with Sandstone exterior. Although I would've bought the Golden Pewter Metallic if they had the one I was looking for!
