Hi ,

A few weeks ago i decided to upgrade my headlight assembly for my '01 Chevy Malibu LS. I sent it to a local mechanic to do the installation job, and he was able to get the parts in there. However my car was involved in a small collision some time before, which damaged the headlight adjustment (vertical&horizontal) of the driver side. The sockets bearing the white screws on the header panel are broken, so the mechanic used his own way of making the new headlights fit. The problem I'm having is the headlight assembly looks good from the outside but during night time driving it is not properly aligned. I talked to a mechanic and he said that he would not recommend to mess with the driver side headlight anymore unless I got a new header panel. I've picked out a OEM replacement for the car, but after doing some reading i collected that the new header panels do not come with the headlight adjustment mechanisms. I've been searching for headlight alignment screws on the internet for my model but I can not find anything. Can anyone offer some feedback on my issue?

Thanks in advance,

Starship

Go go http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/catalog/frameset.cfm, select your year, make, and model, expand "Front lamps," "Headlamp components," "Mount panel" on the left, click on the "VIEW ILLUSTRATION" button on the right, and then pick what you need. I am sure there are other sites with virtually same catalogs.

Hey Starship! Thanks, that's an awesome site for the parts. Never knew about it. I see exactly what I needed. THanks for your help.

You're welcome. Just be careful with the electrical connectors when you disconnect anything. The plastic tends to get brittle over time. I hate it when those little tabs break on me.

Yeah, I've had to replace my front end before and put in a new header panel. Its not to hard of a job, but my header panel has warped a little over time, that's really the only issue with that aftermarket part.
