Not sure if this issue has been posted yet, I'm sure it has, just redirect me to that thread if this problem has been successfully resolved.

I have a 2005 Maxx LTZ V6. I actually have a couple of concerns. The first, when braking heavily the front end tends to shimmy. As far as I know the ABS has only ever been locked up twice. It feels as if the wheels are getting slowed effectively but that the suspension isn't braced properly and/or enough. Almost like ther front wheels are going to just rip out of the front end of the car.

My second concern. During fast acceleration when the engine reaches around 4.5-5K RPMs there is a whistle from the engine. As you hopefully know the car upshifts around 3.5-4k RPMs when driven like an elderly person. Trust me I put the little car through it's paces. The whistle sounds like a blowoff valve blowing after a turbo spools up. I think it might get too much pressure built up or something.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Sounds like warped rotors to me. Does the steering wheel wobble?

That's kinda high. I had an 05 for a while and it shifted up sooner than that if I drove it like an elderly person. I think in that case rpm weren't much higher than 2 even on the highway. If I stepped on it in a semi hard way only then it'd start revving higher.

Silver:
I thought about that but I had a friend drive it, mor car savvy then me, and said that it didn't seem like warped rotors. Yes my steering wheel does shimmy and I have not ruled out warped rotors.

Lol um when I say drive like an ederly person, for me that's about driving normally. I'm hard on the car through and through. I plan on swapping engines with a 370Z VQ37 in about 2 years or so. So I figured I should wear out the original motor. To give it a "proper" killing.

Good luck with that swap. The 370Z VQ37 is for a RWD car.

Oh yeah I know. But if you think that's crazy I'd love to see the look on your face when you read that I'm also planning on doing an AWD setup on it. It's gonna be my first project car. I'm going to do a custom widebody kit, chop the roof an inch or two, permanantly mold the rear doors shut. rake the c pillars and do a panoramic sunroof that retracts into the trunk. A nice 2 tone half-top paint job. Dark pearl blue bottom and a sandy beige on top. It's a Malibu, the name originating from Malibu, California, so I have to make it very beach-y and open. But I also want it to stomp a mudhole in anything on the street thinking I've just got a little pansy 4 banger under the hood. My car in a nutshell, The Malibu Driver's Dream.

I had a G6 at work that had an exhaust whistle under load with a 3.9 V6. It ended up being there was a tiny hole in the exhaust by one of the hangers. It was annoying as can be and I had though someone had put on of those turbo sound things in the tailpipe, lol. It was a pain to find though.

I agree with silverLTZ on the front brakes being warped.
