While deciding today was the day to head out and buy an aftermarket stereo for my 04 classic i had ran across some problems. Everything started great, got the deck i wanted, grabbed a xx-05yr gm wiring harness to hook it up and was on my way home to put it in after paying.

Got everything off the dash, stock stereo unbolted, then ran across the first problem. Theres one wire that seems to be 100% connected to the stereo itself, which i could not figure out one bit how to get off. Is this the antenna? Second problem is the obvious, the wiring harness i got did not fit at all.

Call it what you want, i tried anyways after i was told that so and so year malibu's have a certain feature that causes you to change the wiring harness or something related for $140 bucks through best buy.

My question is, or rather explain to me what i can do to get around this?

Thanks star, after doing so i still haven't come up with anything. Looking through all the harnesses they have some how none of them fit. The only thing that gives me some hint at what im talking about is this special integration thing. heres what info comes up for factory stereo. '' 6-1/4" depth; Size code DD,E ; Non-standard dash opening (special integration package required)''

Any help is appreciated from anyone, as i have bought a full sub and amp system along with the deck and cannot install it!

Hmm, can you change the subject of this thread? If not, post your question again with a more descriptive subject. "2004 Malibu Classic" doesn't really say anothing about your question.
