Well, since my Malibu gets almost as good fuel economy as my little Buick did, and I really needed a 4WD drive again I decided to let my all original '85 Skyhawk T-Type go several weeks ago...

While I do miss the little car, I haven't really thought much about it since the new toy came home...

I'ts a '94 1500, 318 5-spd. Already had a 3" lift when I got it, but when I put the BFG's on they rubbed bad (even though the Coopers I replaced weren't that bad, and the same size). So, I took it up another 3" with a body lift, and painted the front bumper. I'll probably be adding nerf bars, and spraying bedliner from the side trim down, to line up with the black front bumper.

I also recently picked up a low mileage 2001 318 Magnum that will be getting a carb and going in my '67 Belvedere. Once that is done looks like I've got a good lead on a 360 Magnum block and stroker crank for the truck... :)

Some day I think I'd like to just drive them...

Cool rides. That Buick was a very well taken care of vehicle, and T-type makes me wan t to ask what the engine specs are.

The Ram has a total of 6 inches in lift now, all suspension or a body lift as well?

The Skyhawk T-type has a 2.0L 165hp Turbo 4. Also used in the Sunbird and Grand Am.

Personally, I can't believe that the OP let go that pristine turbo coupe for a Ram.... but if you need a truck, you need a truck.

Actully not many T-types other than Regals were turbo. T-Type was the "Sport" package. It just happened to have an available turbo. Mine, unfortunately, was not a turbo. Just a 1.8L N/A, 5-spd. I think the HP rating was around 86. The 5-spd made it a lot of fun regardless of the lack of power. Had it been a turbo, it would still be in my possession. I had thought long and hard about putting a turbo on it, painting it black, getting some black mesh wheels, and having a baby GN. The interior looked very similar. However, I have an old Plymouth that needs my time/money...

I was always surprised at how the aftermarket forgot about the first gen J-bodies, considering how many Cavaliers and Sunbirds are still on the road. Mine was in great shape, but needed a few weatherstrippings and gaskets that just weren't available... :(

and yes, 6" total lift now. I love the way it sits and rides. Cruises out on the highway better than most vehicles with stock suspension...
