Yesterday morning I was headed to work when I pulled up to a stop sign before merging and the car died. Has anyone else had this happen? No light came on and it hasn't happened since. Oh, the car started right back up.

If it were me, I'd hook up a scanner and look for pending codes. The thing is that things don't just happen and they don't fix themselves, either.

My Malibu did the same thing last week. Then this morning the CEL came on and the car stalled twice. I was able to get it restarted and limped it into the Chevy Dealer a mile down the road at a top speed of 20mph. My 09' Malibu has only 11,000 miles on the clock. I just got off the phone with the dealer and they said it was the Throttle Body and they are waiting on a part.

If my car would have stalled while I was on the freeway, it could have been very ugly. I'll be sure to file a safety complaint on the NHTSA web site when I get home. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/index.cfm

I guess Chevrolet / Chevy’s new slogan is a cruel joke ….. “Excellence for Everyone”. I sure hope this is not their ideal of excellence. This car is crap.

That happened with the '05 Buick Lacrosse that was traded on the Malibu. I was pulling away from a stop sign out on a rural farm road when it happened, and I was able to drive under reduced power the 30 + miles home. Like you, I'm glad this didn't happen in city traffic or on the interstate.

I've read about many people having this happen to them. Filing a safety complaint is probably a good idea.
