Hey everyone...Hope all you Dad's had a great Fathers Day!! Still working on my RPM issue, but now something else has appeared. :)
The past two mornings when I start my car, the horn will beep once. Very strange, it doesn't beep anymore after that, it only seems to do it as soon as I start the car.
Ideas?

Do the 2005s have transponder keys? Are you using the original key to start the car, or a copy?
I know with some of the newer cars there is a computer chip in the key that sends a signal to the ignition when the car is started. If that signal isn't present or is interfered with in some way then the car thinks someone is trying to hot-wire it and will either not run properly or sound the alarm.
Don't know if that is the exact case with yours, but it is the first thing that comes to my mind.

Hmm, that's just too bizarre. Do parking lamps flash or stay on as well, like something triggered the horn chirp? What happens if you go through the same motion and turn the key to ON but just wait without starting? It's a shot in the dark but, given the age of your vehicle, maybe the door lock switch is sticking and not returning to neutral. Check the passenger side as well.

Thanks Starship ~
So I was sitting in the car last night, trying to figure out what could be causing the beep. Then I notice the lock button is stuck in the up position. So this whole time, the horn chirping feature was turning itself on and off. Oh for godness sake...
Thanks everyone for your input...

That's bizarre how you've been able to lock/unlock doors with a sticking switch. If it's too gummed up, try some switch cleaner/lube spray (not WD-40 or silicone anything).
