My 2001 Malibu has an issue with the AC switch, and this only on certain days. While driving and using the AC, I can see the light on the AC switch turn off and then comes back on. When this happens the compressor turns off and then comes back on. Not sure why this is happening? Could be a switch issue on the dash or something to do with the compressor?
Thanks.

I'm not sure if the refrigerant pressure switch circuit had anything to do with the A/C indicator ON/OFF. What happens if you tap on the area around the A/C button? You seem to be handy with these things and thus try cleaning HVAC control head http://www.imcool.com/articles/aircondition/AC_ControllersAreRepairable.pdf.
OT, I can't believe this is my 300th post already. This forum is like the Borg; resistance has been ... futile.:D

I hear ya! When I got to either 200 or 300 I started editing every message for the next 100 so I could kinda keep track of which one went where chronologically. After doing it for 100 I stopped. Now look where I am! It all happens way too fast! But it's all good.

thanks for this info. I was going to try this though, open up the panel and see if there was any issue. This information will help me to begin this project as time allows. Thanks again.

I used this exact procedure about 2 years ago on my 03 and I haven't had a problem since. I used pencil graphite, but have heard others using different types of contact grease.
