Yesterday something on the outside of the vehicle started to rattle, it is definitely coming from the drivers side but the only thing I could imagine it would be is the mirror but it does not seem to be loose.Any ideas?

No actually ive had nothing done to it. This just started out of the blue

Yikes -- honestly the term rattle is too vague for this sort of thing. It is high or low pitched? Constant or more pronounced after a pothole?

In search of the source -- Did you bump ANYTHING on the front end? If so, check that the front bumper isn't rattling in the wind in any place (including on the front of the car, check each insert and the fog lights/spacers. especially look where it meets up to the front quarterpanel.)

Check that the wheel well liner is snapped fully in place.

Check that you have nothing in the upper or lower door compartments (change or a mint container or something) and also in the little "ashtray"-like compartment to the left of the steering wheel.

Do your drivers side windows roll down?

Does your left mirror fold in and back out in a firm manner? (bump them on anything?)

Hubcaps on securely? (make sure all 5 lugs are locked) [if you have hubcaps]

If you think through all these things, maybe it will help describe it better or (hopefully) ID the problem. If not, might it be coming from the engine compartment? Can you be sure one way or the other?

Yes and no haha. It comes and goes, not noticible with the windows up though.

I had a similar problem like this with my 09. I could sometimes hear a plastic rattle when I would hit bumps going 45+mph. For me it turned out to be the plastic liner in the front driver wheel well. Had the dealership fix it up and all is well.

My front license plate (actually dealer tag) rattles sometimes. I had the window down the other day while driving down my street and I could hear it.
