This morning I had my sunroof open (in the tilted, not fully open position) for the drive to work, but once I got to work I couldn't get it to close. So not thinking ahead I tried to open it to see if it would move at all; well it did and it opened all the way and that's how it stayed.
With rain in the forcast today I decided it best to take it to the dealer right away only to find out that I have a defective/broken switch. They did manage to get it closed by "pressing really hard" on the switch; or at least that's what they told me. Now I have to wait 4-6 days for the part to come up from the US (I'm in Canada).
My sunroof had been a little "strange" since day one; sometimes taking multiple presses of the button to open. Today is day 14 that I've had the car and I hope that this is the last issue I have with my 'Bu for a long time.
Has anyone else had any issues with their sunroof?

I've always felt it took too much pressure to close it, but it takes almost nothing to open. I'm taking mine in on Thursday (two days) and hopefully I'll remember to mention it.

Did you install a module to do that, or is it a factory option, or is it a standard feature on your car (not an option)?

I haven't had problems with the sunroof, but it is a funky mechanism. I had trouble figuring out how to get it to tilt, then open all the way. On my other cars with a button to open the sunroof, you generally pushed the front part of the switch to tilt it and back part to open it. With the Malibu, the tilt and the open are all in the same button direction. So if you want to open the sunroof, you have to tilt it first, then press the button again to open it. I had trouble figuring this out when I first started using it.
My last car had a rotating knob with separate positions for tilt, etc.
I'm not really a big fan of sunroofs anyway. My car had all of the options that I wanted except I could have lived without the sunroof. Also, Chevy didn't go with the new Ultraview type sunroofs that are offered on many cars today. You really don't get much of an opening with the Malibu sunroof.
