Honestly I feel that GM took a few steps back yet again with the Malibu. I just hope it has projector headlights and that they kept them the same shape and size as the current model. Other then that its ugly as sin compared to the 08-11 style.

Those aren't really new pics. I have seen them before. You really can't go by them anyway. Just a test mule with obviously temporary lamps front and back. Looks to have the same basic roof-line and side glass too. Guess it is just an "update" not an all new car which is what I figured.

Right, I don't believe the 2012 model has been finalized yet. I've seen several pictures of so called 2012 Malibus and each site shows a different look. Some look really nice, others not so nice.

I think it's still a little too early to see a final 2012 model - the 2011's are just coming out. It's probably still in the design phase. I wouldn't expect to see a true 2012 until sometime in Feb - March of next year.

Believe me the design is 100% done. Molds are made, etc....

They just make the mules look like that to throw anyone off.

Exactly when the mule is out that is the final design for the most part. They may change little things but the base of the car is done.

I really hope that the head lights are the same size and are projectors. Would be a lot easier then making my own heh.

Looks like to me, and trust me I'm not a car expert, but looks similar to the new G8's. Not exact but it reminds me of that.
