I bought my 98 Malibu off of craigslist. It was Feb in kansas so it was kinda cold. The previous owners said they had it checked, and it would shift hard when it was cold, but in warmer weather, it wouldnt act up. On the 2 hour drive back home after buying it, it would shift shitty, would get high RPM's, speedometer would bounce and was just horrible. We got it home and under the passenger front side, my husband unplugged the "speed sensor" and it would run fine, minus having a speedometer. It shifted a little hard now and then but it runs perfectly. My question is, is there more than one speed sensor? We replaced that passenger front one, and it didnt do any good. A friend of mine says there might be another? Should I look around the hub assembly on the drivers side?

Any help would be awesome!


---Also, any way to get rid of the ticking noise? Its got about 135,000 miles.
