: 03 Bu pulls to the left when braking

My 03 Malibu pulls to the left when the brake is lightly depressed. It goes straight when pushed hard.

I figured front pads/rotors/calipers. I changed the calipers, rotors, pads and brake hoses. (Pads and rotors were due soon anyway, first time for the calipers). Bled the brakes.

The problem is still there, when braking lightly the car pulls left. WHen the brake is applied hard the car stops strait.

Any Ideas??? Master Cylinder? ABS?

If the brake pedal feels okay then I would suspect the master cylinder next. Perhaps one of the pistons has a leak in which case the brake pedal travel will increase.

the brake pedal travel seems normal. if there was a leak it would go all the way to the floor.

Are there any other possible causes?:(

You didn't say but are the rear brakes okay? Maybe one side is grabbing first? You wouldn't believe how much the side-to-side imbalance in the rear can affect handling.

OK Folks, the final verdict is that a front bushing had failed. Once it was replaced stopped like new. $25 bucks in parts and a couple of hours labor.

Once again, car pulled to the left under light braking, less so under hard braking. Check the front bushings on the side the car is pulling.

thanks to all the posters who replied!
