Got a call from XM today telling me my trial period will end in October.
He offered the following:
3 additional months for $20.97
Then $12.95 per month.
Now, I've yet to do any real research on this since I've never had satellite radio, but I thought I'd ask here first.
Good deal or not such a good deal?
Thanks.
BTW I read jds54's thread - not much advice there. Any updates?

Very close to the end of my 3 month 'trial period', I opted to continue XM service for the 'special' 3 month rate of $20.97.
Near the end of that period, I changed to / enacted a $77 / year rate. (Seventy-seven dollars per year is obviously better than $155.40 per year.)
I also paid with a check, and there was no 'additional fee' (for handling or whatever) on the invoice I received.

Much appreciated, thanks.

Jay what code did you use and what was the date you signed up? My free period is over in August and I have concerns that the $77 rate will be gone because of the merger with Sirus.

I didn't use a code. (To be 'rep', I used a code number I read about on this 'site', but was told the code was no longer valid.) I was assertive and requested the $77 / year price which I read about here, and XM gave me (continued) the service.
I began my $77 1-year subscription near the end of June.

Thanks Jay, hopefully that will work for me also when the time comes.
