I'd like some of the collective wisdom of the brothers and sisters who hang around this forum.
It's close to that time of the year again, when the regular tires come off the car and the winter ones go on.
But wait, the winter tires from Little Red, our 2002 Saturn L100 are
P195/65R15's . Little Red is gone now and her dainty little winter booties will not look good on Goldie, big footed clod that she is.
What to do? So throw in your thoughts and recommendations for winter tires and rims for our 2010 LT

I've been using Michelin Arctic Alpins on my ION. It's been okay other than a little cupping problem and road noise. I'm kind of torn on the Malibu. It looks slim pickings in winter tire packages for the Malibu and, when you add in the TPMS sensors, the costs aren't trivial either. Let us know how you make out.

Hey, what's his private life got to do with winter tires?
:) ;)
(I'll be here all week folks!)

I bought Cooper Weather Master SL/2 - 215/60R16 and the butt ugly OE black steel rims.
I went to the smaller rim size mostly for economy. I saved over $100.00 by going with a minus 1" tire and rim. The overall size is .61% smaller so the effect is negligible. Handling is unaffected and the tires are very quiet. These tires get very good reviews and I got free installation from Don Parsons Tire here in Streetsville, Ont. Now, bring on the snow!

I bought the Blizzak WS-60s. Wanted the 70s but they don't make them in size 215/60R17 for some reason. I had the 50s on my Grand Am and the winter driving was great so I stayed with them. :)
This is my first time using locking wheel nuts. Should I spray something on them to mitigate any rusting?
She's still one sexy b!tch :D and I now understand how some of you guys like the black rims.

She does look nice. The only thing I'd do with those black rims is put a red pinstripe around the outer rim. That would just rock!
