If it's been turning over slowly, I'd say it's the battery. Does your battery have side terminals? I don't know if it's just me but I could never jump them. There's really not much to clamp onto.

Hi Starship,it doesnt turn at all,one thing I didnt mention is that dealer said that the coil needs replacing could it be the coil it would turn slowly and then catch at times would coil cause battery to discharge

By "coil" do they mean the starter solenoid (solenoid basically being a plunger inside a coil)? Just to make sure we're on the same page, when you turn the key to START, the ignition switch supplies power to the starter solenoid. The solenoid then engages the pinion gear to the flywheel and closes the electrical contacts to apply the main (over the thick positive battery cable) to the starter motor. So, if it just goes "click, click," the starter solenoid makes sense (the other possible culprit being a weak battery). The coil as in the ignition coil pack doesn't.

Tell 'em thanks and replace it yourself. Starters can be purchased for less than $100 (most vehicles) and installation is usually fairly easy. You'll need to jack the car up for access, but if you're not afraid to do the work yourself, you'll save big bucks!

The MSRP on a new GM part is over $400 (remanufactured ones less, around 1/3 of that). After adding in the diagnostic fee, labor, and lifetime warranty, $500 isn't the highest I've heard. The thing is, once you tow your vehicle in, you become a captive audience and it seems nothing costs less than that.:(

Oh, well, I knew a guy who took the bus to a dealership and paid the full MSRP. The slime balls wouldn't give him a penny off but he got the brand new Honda he wanted. That's the businness side of it, "whatcha gonna do".:( Thanks for the update.
