Have you guys not seen the Crash Test? After seeing the Air Bag Check in the other thread, I figured I would post this...

I had never seen the video. Kinda takes away any arguement one can make for solid steel, the "good ol' days", full frames, etc., doesn't it? Intelligent design is way better than brute force in this instance.

Thanks for grabbing it and bringing it to us!

It's been posted before. In my opinion its hard to judge the accuaracy of the tests for two reasons, one the age difference in the two cars one's brand new the other is 50 years old and you can see rust dust fly during the crash. Second, their is speculation that the engine was removed from the 59 bel air.

Wow, I am pleasantly surprised at those results. The Malibu really held itself together.

Shame they ruined a classic car to prove their point though.

Any ideas about the speed of the cars at impact? Interesting to see the total collapse of the A pillar on the '59. My dad's first car was a '59 Biscayne 2 door, blue with a white top and trunk deck. I remember going to the cottage with a trunk full of gear and food, 3 boys standing up in the back seat, Dad driving, and my Mum with my baby sister on her lap in the passenger seat. What were they thinking!?
