: 2LT Order - to be built this week
salgeek 03-31-2008, 08:59 AM It's Confirmed. The General Sales Manager made a couple calls this morning on my behalf to see if the Lake Orion plant is in jeopardy of closing this week due the parts shortage and the answer is... no. Needless to say I'm thrilled. Woo Hoo. I should have the Dark Grey Stallion next week sometime.:D
[IMO - the dealer went out of their way to quell my fears. Impressive]
Pizza Man 03-31-2008, 09:31 AM Woo Hoo. I should have the Dark Grey Stallion next week sometime.:D
Outstanding, Scott! Please post a photo or two. I've never seen the dark grey and that's the one color they use most frequently in the TV ads.
salgeek 04-02-2008, 09:33 AM I just got word my Malibu has been built and get this... I might get it TODAY.
Amazing, considering I ordered it on the 17th of March.
Chevy really understands how to delight customers.

Wow, that's great. I never heard of a order being filled that fast.

Great news, Scott! Best wishes for an enjoyable ride.
I ordered 11/15, give or take a day or two, I received it 1/19/08. Eight weeks for me.:(
salgeek 04-03-2008, 01:03 PM Thanks guys!! Pizza Man - I think I got very lucky to get it so quick.
Way to go. :D
Like Pizza Man, I think it was 2 months to get ours.
salgeek 04-03-2008, 09:32 PM WOW. I love it. It's parked in the garage, and I'm enjoying reading the manuals. Looking forward to the sunny 50+ degree weather this weekend.
This is going to be a fun car to own. :D
08MalibuLeaser 04-03-2008, 09:44 PM Post some pix!!! Awesome man!!!
plgtx 04-03-2008, 10:24 PM Man....other than the V6, you have the car I wanted to have built! They halted production of the vehicle when I ordered it. Oh, well, such is life! Congratulations, I know you'll love it!:-)
salgeek 04-06-2008, 10:04 PM I couldn't be more pleased. I'm beginning to understand all the great things everyone has said about this wonderful automobile.

08MalibuLeaser 04-07-2008, 02:50 AM Very nice!
Looks good.
It looks like you have the optional 18 inch wheel. We never did see that wheel when we were checking cars on the lots.
salgeek 04-07-2008, 01:32 PM The wheels come with the 6 cyl option.
Truth be told I prefer the LTz wheels and/or the standard[Titanium colored] 2LT 17" wheels; but, I can't complain - they still look very good.
I might like them better if they were not from the Impala "parts bin" On the other hand I got a 6 cyl and 18" wheels for $2060. More than reasonable.
Enkei or Konigs may be in the cars future.
The wheels come with the 6 cyl option.
.
Now that I think of it, we did not see any LTs on the lots with a 6 cyl.
08MalibuLeaser 04-07-2008, 04:36 PM Has anyone heard the arrival date of the 09s?
Malibooboo 04-08-2008, 06:16 AM Has anyone heard the arrival date of the 09s?
I might end up waiting for the 09. I also may contemplate the LTZ 4 cyl model. Any little bit of GM incentive could push me to the point to commit. Right now I have so many other GM choices with good cash back programs, it's tough to justify the Malibu even though it is a great car.
salgeek 04-08-2008, 07:12 AM Malibooboo - There are incentives[$1,000] on the Malibu through the end of the month. If you own any GM[loyalty cash] or non-GM[conquest cash] vehicles '99 or newer. Had I not been able to get GMS pricing I would have used this. If I was a GM employee I could have doubled up.
I saw an 4cyl Ltz on the road yesterday ... w/ Manuf. plate.

We recieved one of those cards while the Malibu was on order. I got all excited until I read the fine print. It did not apply to Malibu :(

So I can or cannot use the $1000 in conjunction with GMS? Or the $1000 does not apply to the Malibu at all?

Here is my understanding. Confirmed with salesperson.
You cannot use the $1k in conjunction with GMS. It does apply to the Malibu. Evidently the $1K was only on the table for FL and CA Malibu buyers in March. For April it was extended to all 48.

Just my luck, we purchased ours Feb 1st
08MalibuLeaser 04-08-2008, 04:42 PM GM needs to get with it - look at all the offers from Ford and other companies...

I'm equally disappointed with missing out on the rebate. I'm also surprised Chevy is offering the $1000 on the Malibu. I've read Malibu sales are up 27% over last year and is the only hot spot in the GM lineup.
salgeek 04-08-2008, 09:38 PM I would love to know the percentage increase of non-fleet sales.
08MalibuLeaser 04-09-2008, 05:45 AM I used the GMS pricing for my lease - MSRP was 25,025 - got the car for 23,982 - I mean, after taxes, title, license (for some reason NJ makes you now buy 4 years of a reg and I'm leasing the car for only 3?), fees, etc - it still came close to 25k....
