I will be looking to get some rims for my car soon, Im a show car guy but have never owned a chevy let alone a malibu but im wanting to be one sickest bu's around "yall will see soon" but imma try to go staggered and drop it so 20's of course are my choice and so 20x8.5 in the front will 20x9.5 or x10 work for the back? or do we have bad luck and have to get it all even around?

Thanks in advance

Search for posts by JramsLTZ (http://www.chevymalibuforum.com/forums/member.php?u=4315) and MalibuOn22s (http://www.chevymalibuforum.com/forums/member.php?u=4622)? There're others for sure.

I just sold my 20's. I ran 20x8.5 with 245/35/20. That is about as big as you can go with 20's without issues. IMO on a FWD car staggered wheels look dumb.

yeah i seen the type u were running and they look good and u chose a nice size rim and tire, i want that for the front though and not worried bout the FWD cuz its going to be a show car and when its dropped it will look good. I just need to know if 9.5 or 10 will fit on the back

how is it a waste? I can get staggers for the same price I would pay for normal rims..I got the hook up around where I stay in the DFW on everything. One of my dudes is talking about running 20x8.5 front 20x10 all black Lexani's for my car but dont want to go through the trouble if i know they dont fit or not

Nope, not with a 245 tire. My 8.5 was close. You might be able to do a 9, but I would not push it past that.

I think he means (and I agree) that wider rear tires are usually for RWD cars where they actually help handling and looks. Putting larger tires on the back of a FWD car is odd if you ask me. But it is your car.

I will be curious to see pics after this is done. I seem to remember seeing a FWD car (not sure what type ) with a wider series in the rear than the front, and it didn't look all that bad. Yes, I thought the same thing too, it being a FWD car... Why??? But, like I said, it didn't look bad.
