It only happens when the fan is on and is more audible with low settings but you can hear it speed up as the fan speed is increased. Super annoying and you can even hear it over the radio at times. Any simple way to lube/replace/pad whatever is causing this noise? (Probably the fan motor, but maybe some kind of flap or door?) 5K miles left on my warranty and want to get all I can taken care of before it's over...
Thanks all

I'd say about 5% of any type of fan ive encountered ticks or clicks. I think if you're still under warranty go in, make sure they hear it and let them hunt it down.
Probably something fairly simple -- but if its louder than the radio you certainly want to have them look at it before bumper to bumper is up in case it is a more distant and serious issue.

Mine does this on the lower speeds, but I am out of warranty. Mine is the blower motor itself making the noise, and it started about 2 months ago. There is no fix for except replacing the blower motor. My fix for it is turn up the radio:D.

I just had my blower fan motor changed on the warranty this morning because of the ticks & clicks noise at position 1. Took about 45 minutes in total. Next thing on the list is the rattle in the roof behind the rear dome light. Very annoying !

Did they say what caused the fan to make noise?

Good question and I didn't ask. It was the third time I went to the dealer to have it fix and this morning it finally made the **** noise. On my previous visits, they said it was probably some leaves in the fan !!! The noise was intermittent and it became more and more often and noisy.
I found the whole assembly (motor and fan) surprisingly very heavy by the way. Probably a good place to save some weight I think. GM cars seems be heavier than the competition when you compare some models.

It could be all the lead from the Chinese parts they use... :D
Or not... ;)

Funny thing about those Chinese parts is that, and it saddens me to say, they have gotten better then many parts made here. My company manufacturers items here in Florida, and overseas in China. The Chinese stuff is made better and has less problems. Go figure....

Thank you... I am dropping it off Sunday night and they said it shouldn't be a problem. I got lucky with a nice dealership with good people in my area.

Funny, I have the same issue and the Service Dept gave me the same excuse. (leaves in the fan!) Do you know of any TSB on this issue? Id like to give them the number. Dont understand why THEY have to hear it first before doing anything. I think they should just trust me that its happening and just replace it. Kinda frustrating.
