Does anyone have a diagram or illustration for thermostat location for a 97 Malibu V6? Is replacement difficult?

Welcome to the forum.:) I did a search on thermostat in the Generations 5 & 6 Malibu sections and found my own response in thread http://www.chevymalibuforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5477. It's not difficult if you're sensible about it and wait for the engine to cool down first. Just don't drop the nuts or you'll be spending a lot of time looking for them.:D

Thanks for the reply Starship but I my need is for V6 3.1 engine.

Fig. 2 is for the 3.1L. The thermostat housing is bolted to the intake manifold at the rear of the engine. I had included both since Noidea (http://www.chevymalibuforum.com/forums/member.php?u=7097) hadn't specified which.
