I haven't ordered them yet, but these are the cheapest (http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=AccessoryCatalog&catalogid=5402&siteid=213768&categoryID=131461&subcat1=131473&subcat2=133028&subcat3=133030) I've found for genuine Chevy splash guards.

I ordered from www.CrateEngineDepot.com @ $34 a pair. Both pairs shipped were $82.95 came out about $5 cheaper than the guy I found on eBay. I had them in two days and put them on yesterday evening.

They are the geniune GM splash guards with all hardware included. You have to drill two additional holes per splash guard in addition to the existing holes and hardware that's there now. But with the exception of the one hole for each of the fronts you'll be drilling into plastic (or what ever composite they call it). For the rears you'll need to remove the tires. Took a little over an hour for all four but I spent time looking at the Bu from the underside and checking the torque on all the wheels.

EDIT: better link but the price has gone up from what I paid last weekend... http://www.crateenginedepot.com/store/Exterior-C240.aspx

I just ordered a set of splash guards for Forum Sponsor Buy-OEM-Parts.com. They were $35 for each set and $10.50 shipping. Total charge $80.50.

Update to previous post:

I just received a phone call from buy-OEM-parts.com informing me their web page is in error. The pricing isn't correct. The price is now over $40 a set. I was irritated and told them to cancel the order. The web page is still showing the wrong price.

I have a call into them. I feel the need to express my anger and disappointment.

Must be made with Oil. And supplied with gold screws!

Update:

I received an e-mail from our Sponsor buy-OEM-parts.com and all is well. Seems GM raised a lot of their accessory prices effective 9/1/08. If my guards shipped today I should have them tomorrow, Friday for sure. We're supposed to get a lot of rain in SE Pa on Saturday due to hurricane Hanna passing. Hopefully, I can get them installed Sunday.

I received the Splash Guards Friday from our Forum Sponsor, www.buy-OEM-parts.com. The packaging was adequate and the parts arrived in perfect condition. The installation was easy and only took about an hour, maybe a little longer because I took advantage of cleaning and treating the wheel wells while I had the wheels off.

My drill is rather large, so I ran into a little difficulty with drilling one of the holes for the rear guards. I wound up drilling a smaller hole (3/32" instead of the 1/4" required) to use just as a spotter. Then I was able to drill the 1/4" from behind after finding the spotter.

Trust me, if I can do it anyone can. :o

I also ordered the splash guards from buy-OEM-parts.com and on 10/31 I was told that the price was no longer $80.50 but instead it was $98.00! The order page is still wrong 2 months later after the price increase. If I wanted to pay full retail I could go down the street and not pay shipping. I get the feeling that these guys do this often.

Although I have no explanation as to why, it appears buy-oem-parts.com is no longer listed as a Forum Sponsor.

Those pics were taken the day I got them installed on the car, so the spinoff was preinstallation. Haven't seen it since.

To each is own. I barely notice them on my Red Bu. FYI, these are standard on my Wife's Acura TL, and they are not color matched either (the same dark gray.)

I agree - I had them installed yesterday at the dealer. My color is Silverstone Metallic. They compliment the blackout rear valance and you hardly even notice them.

Being a little picky, they do not completely seal to the body panels - it looks like stuff might collect behind them over time.

Sounds like an improper installation....Maybe needs a redo?

Could be. I tried to push on them but they don't seal perfectly to the body lines. I think I'll leave them alone until next spring/summer and try to fix them a little then - too cold in CT now.

Mine are like that too and I installed them. They were perfectly butted up and the pilot holes were drilled in the center of each. It isn't until you put the screws in that they end up being not flush. The wheel well surfaces aren't all even with the body and when the screws are tightened it causes the gaps. I didn't see any way around it with mine.

Was just checkin out an '09 silver LTZ in front of my building, w/o guards...A sick amount of road tar strands behind the front wells.

This is a common problem with splash gaurds. My solution - a bead of clear silicone inside the splash gaurd before installing, press in place, secure with the screws and wipe up any ooze. They can be removed without damaging the paint if needed. This is the ONLY way to prevent gack buildup behind the gaurds.

...I'm sorry.Bud.I wasn't clear...The ' w/o' was meant to say 'without' guards._The tar strands were almost to the GM emblem!

No Prob... I'm O/C enough that I went back to the dealer and got a set for my '99 before they became 'historical'. Stilll haven't put them on but that's a whole different story. Its a small thing but can make a big difference over the life of a vehicle.

Thinking way back - I can recall being impressed that a 78 firebird could shoot roostertails of mud on a dirt road but look totally clean minutes later at the burgerbarn, musta been the mudguards!

I was thinking this might be a good solution.

I just damaged the left rear mud flap so when I replace it I'll try the silicone.

I was interested in the splash guard, but if you have to drill a hole to install, I will pass. Fortunately, my experience is GM paint is very strong/thick, so I'm not too worried about rock chips. Thanks all.
