Hi All,
1st post in this forum.. I just bought a 2011 Malibu LS... I had originally spec'ed a 2LT that I was going to buy, but I went with the LS since a local dealer had them for $15,777.. Anyway, so far I am quite pleased with the vehicle..

2 Features that I don't have, but would really like are remote start and the bluetooth option.. Does anyone know if these can be easily added??

GM Accessories website shows a remote start option for $195, but it's just a picture of a keyfob.. Is this all that's needed? What about additonal components that need to be installed in the vehicle? Link here: http://www.gmaccessorieszone.com/Chevrolet/2011/Malibu/Remote%20Start/?tx_gmshopb2b_pi1%5Btype%5D=gm

Also, is there anyway to add the bluetooth option.. I bought 300 minutes for the built in cell, but it would be nice to be able to use my IPhone handsfree..

Thanks in advance.

You could use this for the bluetooth.

Thanks, this looks nice, but it completely disables OnStar.. I guess I'll wait the year(since I get it free for 12 months) and consider this..

The remote start kit is 2 key fobs, a hood primary and secondary latch (to tell if the hood is shut), a label, and an authorization code for programming. The car has to have option code AU0 for the kit to be compatible. After it is all installed the dealer has to use the programming system to turn the remote start on in the vehicle with the authorization code and then program the remotes to the vehicle.

As for bluetooth, a different VCIM (onstar module) with the bluetooth antenna can be installed and programmed to work. This is assuming the vehicle is bluetooth capable, which is option code UPF or UWE. The option codes can be found somewhere on a sticker in the vehicle or the dealer can look it up if you go to find out how much it would all cost. There is not a accessory kit from GM to install bluetooth for the malibu that I know of, it will be piecing things together.
