Two or three times while driving( in motion) the door locks will cycle two or three times through the lock/unlock positions and then will stop. There are no problems with the door locks other than this. Since i can't produce this glitch on demand there is no point taking it to the dealer. Anyone else having this event happening? Any thoughts appreciated.

It's probably one of the door lock switches acting up. I remember several threads on the contacts inside the switches getting corroded from the cleaning solution they use before putting on the windows tint. If you kept a careful log with environmental conditions and like when it happens, I don't see why the service department would refuse to take a look.

Douglas,
I had the same issue on my 2010 Malibu after having the windows tinted. In addition to the lock cylinder firing, the switch itself just would not work at all. This happened very intermittently. One scary part was that when I locked my doors and went to work (or over night), when I came back out, the doors had unlocked on their own!!!!
I took my 4 months to finally get it resolved. I provided an in car video of the issue occuring and eventually the problem occured close to the dealer and I zipped in to show a tech what was happening (ie: switch refused to work).
In the end, they found the rubber grommet the protects the sensor and wiring for sensing if the door is open/closed was torn.
This allowed a short to occur resulting in the vehicle thinking the door was open. When this happens, the locking cylinder fires open (because it thinks the door is open).
Just to prove it, open you door and try to lock the doors with it open. The locks will fires down and immediately fire back up. The Malibu system will not let you lock the doors when the door is open.
Hopefully then can take a quick look at this grommet and solve your issue.
Good luck!!!

Thanks for the replies...hasn't happened in several months. Keeping my fingers crossed....the situation has resolved itself......
It happened quite awhile after the windows were tinted...but still would think was the cause of the issue.

Wash the car and see if it starts to happen. Any moisture, especially in copious amounts, can trigger it. Once the "ick" is inside the contacts it'll take cleaning or replacing them to prevent it from happening again. If it's from tint liquid the water will have evaporated, leaving the rest of the mixture. With humidity it can begin to go back into solution and become electrically conductive, causing the issue to flare up unexpectedly. If it's something else as the root cause then washing may not make it happen.
