So, I have owned my car for around a year now and still love it. I have done most of the modifications I want to do to it in that time too. I haven't had many issues with it either. In the past year I have done the oil changes, of course:), a trans flush, and rotated tires for regular maintenance. The major stuff was a P1174 that randomly popped up since I have owned the car, but that was taken care of with a simple injector cleaning under warranty. Also, the only other thing I have had to do, which I did today, was new front brakes. I put new pads and rotors on today after work after the original pads started making noise at 63000 miles. I also finally patched the leaking tire that I have put off for three months:o.

Anyways, overall the car has treated me very well since I have bought it and hope to get much more use out of it in the future. Now I just need to get rid of the junk LS2 tires, and change out my wheels since I curbed one of them because of the tires in the snow:mad:. To make it worse I was driving in a straight line. I still have a couple other thing I want to change on the car, but not for a while.

Hey, congrats on the first year! Feel like making your windows go up and down with the remote, or puttin' lights in yer mirrors?

If that ain't yer cup of tea, got any plans for the next year of modding? :)

I would like to do the window control with the remote, but it makes me nervous to do it. Something I would like to do is put lights in the mirrors, but on the underside somehow and make them function as turn signal/unlock lighting. I still have to figure out how to mount the lights though. Do you have any thoughts?

Some other thoughts are sound deadening the car, installing my pioneer head unit, and build a box for my 2 12" Infinity subs to make for a nice stereo system. I still need to finish swapping out LED's too:D. The one modification I will be doing here soon is making my own grill inserts and modifying my old, damaged, grill to look good. I will be changing tires for sure before next winter or my wheels will look worse. Of course this all depends on money, which may be scarce if I go back to school full time in the fall.

I wish I could be happy and never change things on my car, it would be a lot easier:D. Although, there is no fun in not changing things.

I do, I DO have a thought or two!

The same LED strips in my how-to can be cut to length and stuck to the underside of the mirror. Just clean it with a prep cloth before attaching.

If you do that, I'd suggest that you first use some painter's tape to hold them in place and see if you like them there. You might want to move them toward the front of the mirror just a little so they don't blind you at night, too. I had that minor issue with 'em on my '09. I plan on doing something similar on this one, but the underside is starting to sound like a good idea. Hmmmmm......... (*scratches head*)

To do the window up/down I'm gonna see if I can change the trigger from the original "lock/unlock then press trunk release within 5 seconds" to having to hold the lock or unlock for several seconds. Then it won't mess with my trunk release. It was sometimes a bit of an inconvenience when I'd turn off the car and pop the trunk, only to have all of the windows roll down instead. I stopped doing that rather quickly, but it was a nuisance.

For your grilles, if you want to paint them then you're in a position to make any repairs you want. The paint will cover them and you'll never see them. Heck, you could even paint them the same or a similar color!

Yeah, in a week, my car is going to be a year old. Knock on wood, it's been very good. I'm really happy with the car, but the service department and dealership have been very disappointing. At least they gave me a complimentary oil change.

When I picked up the car, the salesman knew nothing about the car. They're supposed to show you all the controls and features. He was clueless. He tried to get me hooked up with Onstar which I did on my own with my last car. While we were in the middle of a conversation with Onstar, he pressed the wrong button and disconnected us. We had to start the whole process over again. Then, I didn't know where the information button was to access the different information on the DIC. He was pressing the wrong button and nothing happened. He thought the button was broken. He had me pull into the service area to "have the button fixed". They showed me the correct button to push. He didn't even know how to set the correct time on the clock.

Overall, it's a great car, but it's important to have a responsible dealership to back you up as well.

The one year mark for my car just passed this month too. Got her at 14,214 miles. Now I am at ~29,550 miles. Gotta do some major maintenance to her soon with the 30k miles coming up as well as make sure things are good before it starts heating up here. Our summers are super humid so wanna make sure she's ready. She's treated me well. Only have two problems that was fixed under warranty at the less than stellar service department of my dealership. I sometimes wish I had the v6 just for the power, but the LE5 I4 has treated me well and been nice at the gas pump.

I have been very displeased with the service department from the dealership I got her from. The dealer I've bought many of GM cars from and they dealer side always check up on me and take care of me. The service department is the complete opposite.

I have just now started doing mods to her. I like to wait a year before doing mods. I have plenty of things left to do in the next year ahead for her. Once my HIDs arrive here I will install them. After that, next on the lineup is either lowering kit or RKSport Hood. I cannot decide which to do. Then after that I will look into either exhaust cat-back system, new tires, or new brakes. The usual maintenance I have maintained on her since I picked her up with oil changes and such.
