I have an 01 Malibu LS. It took a light hit in the back but it was hard enough to bend up the sheet metal work along span between the tail lights where the trunk latch is. Any suggestions for getting it straightened out? Can that section of it be removed from another mailbu and put in ?

Well you could go to a scrap yard to get what you need or a place that specializes in new cars used parts that how i would go about doing it
Newer cars have a uni-body design. The body acts as the frame. If you look closely you will see small round welds where the parts fit together. You just drill those welds out and re-weld them in place. The wheel alignment is probably off depending on how badly the metal is bent. If you get the part at the dealership it will probably need painting. If you do the work yourself it's better to get the part at the junk yard, that way it doesn't need painting.
