Why on earth would you want to do that ??
PLEASE don't.

Isn't there a warning in your owners manual.....probably more than one.....about NOT messing with the batteries for safety reasons ??

Someone who has to ask "how do I do it" is EXACTLY the person that those warnings are aimed at. Pay attention, it could save your life.
Not kidding; deadly serious.

In some respects this is similar to making changes in your fuse box at home.......while the power is still turned ON.

In addition to the safety concerns, the computer in the car might go hay-wire without the battery being present. It might not run at all.......or it might fry some of the electronics.

This is a VERY bad idea you have here.

Those batteries will shock the hell out of you. You do not need to attempt it. Even my gys at work hate removing them. DO NOT TOUCH the batteries.

No response yet - do you think he pulled the plug and it killed him?

Hopefully not.

Although I've not actually seen any of the hybrid battery connections, I've heard that you have to do something REALLY stupid to hurt yourself very bad......but it's fairly easy to damage the equipment......and to do yourself mild to medium harm.

Having said that, I have realized from participating in Internet forums for a few years that "real stupidity" is MUCH more common than I had previously thought. ;)

If you don't know what you are doing around electrical circuits/schematics and don't have any idea how to use a voltmeter you don't want to try disconnecting the battery pack. You have to disconnect the 12 V battery first and then make sure stray voltages in the rest of the circuitry have dissipated to zero before touching the battery pack. The battery pack is at 36V and can deliver a nice but most likely not fatal wallop if you get across the wrong points.
