Anyone put a roof rack on their malibu? I would like to put one up there to transport bulky items like strollers on trips, but wondering about recommendations anyone might have. Needs to be secure. I have an 08 classic.

Dear RugerRedhawk,
I have read your post about a roof rack on your Malibu. I have not performed this task myself, however I have found on the AutoZone website that they seem to offer different types of roof cargo management systems for your vehicle. Please, keep in mind that General Motors neither endorses nor maintains the AutoZone sites and we are not be responsible for any of its contents.
I am sure that there will be other members that will be happy to share their personal experiences with what you are seeking.
Sincerely,

I know this reply is late but in case you haven't found a roof rack solution yet I've had good luck with the Thule roof rack systems. I've had the rack for over 10 years and my 2004 Malibu LT is the 2nd car I've used it on. Whenever you change vehicles you simply need to buy a new fit kit for your car which consists of the rubber pads and the clamp arms. The cross bars and 'feet' work with many cars.
I've used mine with a 13 cu. ft cargo box as well as with 3 bike racks for round trips up to 1,800 miles.
Keep in mind that the aerodynamic drag caused by the roof rack and bicycle racks (cargo box too) will cause your fuel economy to drop by about 25% - at least that's been my experience.
I believe that Yakima also has a roof rack system to fit the Malibu.
Hope this helps..
