OnStar is saying
Due to hardware limitations within the 2011 Malibu and HHR the mobile app will not support the remote start functionality.

It wouldn't be worth messing with if you couldn't start the car with it.

Thanks DrivenDaily.

How many 2011 owners still have part of their OnStar subscription? Mine ends in August.

I just found a generic OnStar picture with the mobile device, lol! :p

I just paired my car with my iPod, so a video will be coming shortly...

To be honest, the feature is overrated. I tried it out today. It sucks.

From information found on the OnStar website

Requires Android OS 2.1 or later. Resolution must be one of the following: FWVGA (480x854), 3.5"-4.0" diagonal. WVGA (480x800), 3.3"-4.0" diagonal. HVGA (320x480), 3.0"-3.5" diagonal. Check your owner’s manual for details

MyLink to me is actually pointless. You have to enter your 4 digit pin to unlock the car, and when you do, it takes about 10 seconds to do so. Key fob please.

I would use it to start my car during the winter before I leave work. Where I park is too far for the fob to reach unless I walk up to the front of the building. But I'm not gonna pay for On* only to have the one feature I really want not be available. There are aftermarket systems that I can buy and install, and guess what? I don't have to pay a fee every year! I guess I'm left having to go that route.

Stupid MyLink for the Malibu doesn't even support remote start! It really isn't worth a subscription if you only want the MyLink feature.
