Definitely worth a read, but I gotta question it since it is a post by an Amsoil dealer.

This is a few years old, but a decent write up.

Those are interesting posts for sure! That's the first I've ever read or heard about filters, who makes 'em, and how they're made.

I have a Wix toughing it out with AMSoil right now. I need to change it in a couple of weeks. I believe I'll look around for some of those mfrs. and see if any of them make filters for our cars.

Found this tonight. http://www.bescaredracing.com/sti/oil/filters/

Looks like I'm getting myself a WIX or Purolator oil filter now.

Lgndryhr, take another look at the Wix. They're small and appear to have less filter media than Premplus, Proline, or Purolator. I'm gonna look into a remote filter adapter and get a big filter instead of that dinky little thing we've got.

Yea I did some more comparison last night before bed and found Purolator PureOne to be the best. I am going to get one for myself today at Advance Auto, lol. I may get try Amsoil since O'reillys here sells it. Autozone's here don't carry anything worth wild as far as oil products.

I am suspicious of anything that comes for anybody associated with Amsoil but I believe that all of that is substantially true.

It is, however, just an OPINION without some supporting references......and I find it interesting that you chose the word "fact" to title your post. [edit] Wait, did you go back and change that ??

There WAS a court case over the use of the term "synthetic" and, as far as I am concerned, the court blew it........allowing the use of the word to describe oils that do NOT conform to the original specs. for synthetic.

Yea I am still suspicious of Amsoil, but I am debating if I will give it a try. I tried to go back and change the title from fact to read after I posted, but I wasn't quick enough to change it. So It would be greatly appreciated if one of the mods could do that :D

Yea, I remember hearing about that case, but never looked it up or anything. As usual the court system fails us again.
