my dad has an '05 malibu with about 55,xxx on the clock. Lately he has been getting this weird whine that sounds like its coming from the rear of the car. It usually makes the noise when making a right hand turn, but can also be heard going straight, usually at low speeds. I swear it's coming from the left rear speaker. it doesnt sound like the wheel bearing at all. It's a high pitch sounding whine that sounds like nothing i've heard before. Thanks for the help!!

Is it 4 wheel disc? If so, it may be a wheel hub/bearing assembly. Common wear and tear item.
